Sabato notte caccia F-16 israeliani hanno lanciato una serie di incursioni su obiettivi civili in diverse zone della Striscia di Gaza. Durante un attacco un uomo è morto e suo figlio è rimasto ferito in al-Zaytoon, area sud est di Gaza city.
Un F-16 ha bombardato una fattoria di animali poco prima di mezzanotte.
Il guardiano della fattoria, Abed Alkareem Azaitooni, 71 anni, è rimasto ucciso.
Si trovava all'interno di un capanno di acciaio posto accanto al recinto per gli animali.
Suo figlio, Mohammed Azaitooni, 22 anni, è rimasto ferito. Stava portando del cibo a suo padre.
La maggior parte degli animali nella fattoria sono morti e le attrezzature sono danneggiate.
Il proprietario della fattoria ha perso una ventina di mucche, una trentina di pecore e gran parte del cibo per gli animali.
La stessa fattoria fu colpita anche durante Piombo Fuso e fu poi ricostruita.
Anche l'abitazione accanto alla fattoria ha subito dei danni ma fortunatamente nessuno all'interno è rimasto ferito.
"Sono stato fortunato perché fino a 10 minuti prima del bombardamento mi trovavo con Abed", ci ha riferito il proprietario dell'abitazione.
Sul posto abbiamo trovato 5-6 ragazzi intenti a cercar di recuperare il mangime per gli animali e tutto ciò che poteva essere salvato.
Una giacca era appesa ad una colonna di cemento, era la giacca di Abed.
Galline camminavano fra le macerie della fattoria.
Una giaceva a terra morta. Un gallo camminava sul suo corpo lo spingeva con il becco, come se stesse cercando di incitarla a muoversi.
Dalle macerie spuntava la testa di una pecora.
Sul terreno, un enorme cratere provocato dalla bomba.
Macerie erano sparse ovunque.
Il giorno successivo all'attacco siamo andati alla mourning tent (la tenda del lutto).
Abed Kareel Zaytouni aveva 9 figli, 6 maschi e 3 femmine.
La sua famiglia è originaria di Jaffa. Abed aveva passato gli ultimi 20 anni della sua vita lavorando come guardiano. Tornava a casa solo un giorno a settimana. Ha iniziato a lavorare in questa fattoria sei anni fa. Quando era giovane lavorava come facchino.
Suo fratello, Achmed, 73 anni, ci ha detto: "Siamo cresciuti senza i nostri genitori, nostro padre è morto prima che me ne potessi ricordare. Siamo venuti da Jaffa direttamente a Gaza. La nostra vita è iniziata con sofferenza, cercavamo sempre di lavorare ovunque potevamo. Alla fine ognuno si è sposato ed ha avuto una propria famiglia."
Abbiamo visitato il figlio di Abed, Mohammed, 22 anni, ricoverato allo Shifa hospital.
Mohammed lavorava nella stessa fattoria del padre, dava da mangiare agli animali. Ha iniziato a lavorare lì 4 anni fa.
Portava sempre del cibo a suo padre durante il suo orario lavoro. Quella notte avrebbe voluto dargli il cambio, così che suo padre potesse avere una notte di riposo.
Dopo il bombardamento ha cercato subito suo padre, ne sentiva i lamenti. I lamenti poi si sono fermati.
Dieci minuti dopo è arrivata l'ambulanza.
Mohammed si trova ancora in ospedale, vi resterà fino a quando le sue ferite saranno sanate abbastanza da parmettergli di tornare a casa. Ha diverse costole rotte ed un polmone perforato.
Durante quella stessa notte, gli F-16 israeliani hanno lanciato tre incursioni simili in Rafah e Khan Younis, a sud della Striscia di Gaza. Uno degli attacchi ha colpito un capanno agricolo nel villaggio di al-Qarara. Il secondo attacco ha colpito una stanza vuota di una casa nel villaggio di al-Shouka. Il terzo attacco è avvenuto in un'area vuota nel villaggio di al-Shouka.
Israele nei suoi comunicati ha affermato di aver bombardato obiettivi militari.

He was sitting in a steel shed next to the animal pen.
His son, Mohammed Alzaitooni, 22 years old, was injured, He was bringing some food to his father.
Most of the animals in the farm were killed and the equipment was damnaged.
The owner of the farm lost about 20 cows, 30 sheep and most of the feed for the animals.
The same farm was targeted was also during Cast Lead and then was rebuilt.
The house near the farm was damnaged but luckily nobody was injured.
The owner of the house told us: "I was lucky because 10 minutes before the bombing I was with Abed".
At the scene we found 5-6 young men trying to salvage the feed and anything else they could.
A jacket was placed on a cement column. It was the jacket of Abed.
Some chickens walked on the rubble.
A chicken lay dead on the ground. A rooster walked over to her body and pushed at it as if was trying to encourage to move.
From the rubble emerged the head of a sheep.
There was a big crater in the ground from the bomb.
Rubble is spread everywhere.
The day after the airstrike we went to the mourning tent.

We visited the son of Abed, Mohammed, 22 years old, in Shifa hospital.
Mohammed worked on the same farm as his father, he fed the animals.
He started to work there 4 years ago.
He always brought food to his father when he was at work. That night he wanted to replace him so his father could have a
night off.
Mohammed is still in the hospital while his wounds heal enough for him to go home.
He suffers several broken ribs and a punctured lung.
We asked him if had anything to say to the world. He said: "For the arabic and islamic people, they must wake up from their
sleep. For the West, you have abandoned us to death".
During that same night, the israeli F-16's launched similar airstrikes in Rafah and Khan Younis, in the south of the Gaza strip.
One of these strike targeted an agricultural shed in al-Qarara village.
The second airstrike targeted a vacant room in a house in al-Shouka village.
The third airstrike targeted an open area in al-Shouka village
Gaza continues to live under the siege and under a sky full of warplanes.
